Imagine you had the power to reel people into a community all with one device, then you create more so that your brand becomes an obsession. Apple did just that. This electronic company is known for creating Macbooks and iPhones, and markets towards youngsters who admire their products.

Apple has created such a name for itself that it turned into a gated community. According to multiple sources, when teens purchase one product from Apple, they buy more to secure that emotional bond. Once I had the iPhone, I just had to get the MacBook Air and AirPods. Others will go even further and purchase everything Apple has on the market.

Well, what makes the brand so exclusive?

When was the last time you've seen an Apple ad on the TV? Most likely, it's been a while, due to their marketing strategy. Because of the very limited yet memorable commercials, Apple puts out there, people feel the need to get it and be part of that community. It’s like your supposed to know what new gadgets they have and when to buy them. Another strategy they utilize is simplicity. Apple keeps their product descriptions to a minimum, creating a readable and relaxing experience. These strategies attract costumers as other companies have too much confusing information, like LG. (Sorry buddy 😐)

Simplicity misses out on many features

When being part of this tightly bonded circle you commit to the way your item is designed. Luckily, products running Android, like Samsung, don't have that issue. In particular, the new Samsung Galaxy Note20 is packed with fully customizable features. From configuring the notifications based on the user's needs to having commands for the user’s S Pen, this smartphone can be your own playground.

MacBook Vs. Surface

Now, let's switch to the people who aren’t such minimalists. Microsoft has a line of computers that can handle that load. The Surface line. The Surface Laptop 3 has more connections on the side of the laptop than the Macbook Air does. Not to mention, with all of those much-needed features, the Surface Laptop 3 is still lighter than the Macbook Air. Switching to Software, Microsoft has its line of Office 365 applications, which can be structured depending on the customer.

Choose your System

At the end of the day, the OS(operating system) is the HQ for the device’s framework. IOS/Mac OS is the only operating system out there that is exclusive to one community, Apple, and its already set in stone. On the other hand, Android/Windows can be fitted to any other device, like Google’s products. Because Android is more open-sourced, the settings can be played around with to fit the user’s needs.

With all the pros and cons of these technology companies, it comes down to what is best for you.

So, do you want exclusivity or compatibility?
